Living on-campus vs. off-campus

Living On Campus vs. Living Off Campus
It's the question that every college or university student must answer, Should I live on-campus or off-campus? Both options have their advantages and disadvantages. Comparing all the pros and cons, will help you to make this sometimes perplexing decision. The right decision, whether to live on-campus or off, can be made by considering two reasons.
First of all, living on-campus will give you easy access to campus. If you live on-campus you can get to your class by walking, instead of by taking the bus. You won’t have to waste time waiting for a bus. You will have more free time when living on campus.
The second reason is that, when you live off-campus, you pay less for your rent. It is the best option for people on a tight budget, or just for those, who want to save their money. It is also a good suggestion, if you have a car because you won't have be spending a lot time on getting to your school and back to home. Nevertheless, there is still problem with parking spots.
In conclusion, choosing a place to live depends on your preferences, it is up to you whether to live on or off campus. Two points above give just some kinds of ideas. Anyway, to study is more important than where to live, chose place where you can freely study and spend most of your time on it.

How to Become a Flexible Reader

Today the most important thing is your time. Everyone tries to spend as little time as possible when they are working or studying, in order to gain more. In many cases, time is money. When it comes to reading, there are several aims of reading, and depending upon your purpose, you will choose to either spend less time or more, as when you read for pleasure.
To spend less time doesn't mean to understand less, you just must learn some techniques for reading, such as skimming, scanning or study reading, so that the message is clear to understand. It also means to improve your reading skills and become a more flexible reader.
First technique is skimming. It is used when your purpose is to quickly obtain a general idea about the reading material. The skimming technique is most useful when you have to read a large amount of material in a short amount of time. When using this style, you should identify the main ideas in each paragraph and ignore other unnecessary details because you are only looking for the main idea in each paragraph. It is useful when your are taking TOEFL or other tests where you have a small amount of time.
The other technique is scanning. It is a little bit like skimming, but with this technique you just look for some peaces of information, like names, words, numbers, and short statements. The scanning technique is useful when you are answering questions from tasks and reading passages. Since you know exactly what you are looking for, you can move your eyes quickly over the reading material until you locate the specific piece of information you need to find.
You should use study reading, when you are reading difficult materials at a high level of comprehension. Actually, you will read slower than your normal reading rate. Further, as you read, you must challenge yourself to understand the material. You may need to read more than once, before you get a clear understanding about the reading passage.
These are three major techniques, which will help you to improve your reading skills and become a more flexible reader. You do not have to spend a lot time on reading, if it is not necessary, because it could easily lead to exhaustion. These techniques will help you to get more from reading and may also save you a lot of time and even money, in the end.

Essay on Freedom

                                                              FREEDOM
Have you ever imagined how it was tough for slaves in early centuries? They were not able to take even a shower or go to a toilet without permission. The slaves had no choice as to how many hours they must labor. Sometimes they were required to work overtime until their master told them they may leave and go home. They didn't know anything about freedom. They didn't have rights. But this is in the past.
Nowadays, people know about their rights and have freedom.  Because, each person always tries to find freedom and to get it. Only an understanding of freedom are different.
First of all, freedom from prejudices. It always limits abilities of the person. Another kind is,  freedom in choosing. The person is freedom to choose, where to study,  work or to live. Freedom is reasonable laws, which are fair to the person's rights. The next one is, a freedom of speech, the press, thoughts. The person should have the right to think and say that he thinks.
In conclusion, to have freedom means, to be able to make your one decision, and make it real.  Today you have liberty in choosing friends, hobbies, what book to read, what music to listen, and e.t.c.  But most of all freedom internal is more important than physical.
